POSITION TITLE:

Admin Assistant/ Team Support Specialist


About the Company: Johnston Engineering is a growing product development engineering company located in Spokane, WA.


At Johnston Engineering, our customers want to build new products, devices, and machines but need help in the research, design, and test stages, so we provide detailed engineering design, analysis, and fabrication services so when our customers get their devices to market, they know they will work successfully. We work in multiple industries including clean tech, energy storage, battery and electronics cooling and packaging, medical and dental devices, automotive, automation, consumer products, firearms, and more.

We are seeking a senior-level mechanical engineer who shares these values and is committed to delivering high-quality work.


Job Description: We’re looking for a Team Support Specialist to manage and assist with a variety of day-to-day office duties, including account management, client and vendor communication, shipping and receiving, and marketing support.


Responsibilities:

  • Invoice, track, and collect customer payments in QuickBooks.
  • Set up new customer jobs in QuickBooks.
  • Manage office utilities, groundskeeping, cleaning service, and other overhead business payments and bookkeeping.
  • Assume the responsibility for all office equipment and supplies.
  • Responsible for all packages, incoming and outgoing.
  • Answer phones, greet, and direct all visitors appropriately.
  • Additional miscellaneous extra hands-on support. (mechanical aptitude is an extra benefit to the team, but not required).
  • Participate in internal strategic planning, and assist in increasing efficiencies and maintaining a positive and team-based culture and atmosphere.
  • Assist in new hire onboarding.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and problem-solve.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using QuickBooks.
  • Experience using graphic tools such as Canva and Photoshop.
  • Experience with project management boards such as Trello
  • Background in administration, customer service, marketing or sales.


Job Type: Full-Time, in-office (non-remote)


Schedule: 9-hour days, Monday - Friday, with every other Friday off.


Work a hybrid “9/80 schedule”: 9-hour day schedule on a two 2-week cycle. Monday - Thursday are 9-hour days with Friday being an 8-hour day. Then the following Friday is an “off Friday” for an additional 26 non-working days per year.
